FCNL Opposes New Blank Check for War

A bipartisan group of senators led by Senators Bob Corker (TN) and Tim Kaine (VA) introduced a bill in mid-April that would expand presidential war powers and allow the president to add new targeted groups and new geographic areas of operations. FCNL opposes the Authorization for Use of Military Force 2018 (AUMF 2018) which sets our country further down the path of endless and global war.

FCNL Submits Comment to USDA on Proposed Work Requirements for SNAP

FCNL submitted a comment to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) about a new rule that was recently proposed. The rule would place new requirements on Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWDs) within the SNAP program, and would place restrictions on their access to SNAP benefits.

Spending Bill Continues to Leave Dreamers Behind

Congress passed a $1.3 trillion package to fund the government through the rest of this fiscal year. Included in this package is money for the Department of Homeland Security, the agency that carries out detention, deportation, and border enforcement. While the spending bill included many harmful provisions, FCNL and advocates nationwide helped stop some of the most dangerous proposals.
