On Sunday September 8, FCNL’s Middle East Policy lobbyist Hassan El-Tayyab sat down for an in-depth interview about the war in Yemen on KPFK 90.7FM in Los Angeles.
As a guest on Middle East in Focus, Hassan joined host Nagwa Ibrahim for a discussion on the worsening humanitarian crisis, the recent infighting between the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, and pending legislation in Congress that could end U.S. military aid for Saudi-led war in Yemen.
The Saudi-UAE led coalition’s aerial bombardment of Yemen is one of the leading causes of civilian casualties in the war and a driver of the world’s largest humanitarian crisis. More than half of the country’s population is on the brink of starvation and more than 1 million people have contracted cholera—an alarming 10,000 new cases each week.
The United States has the leverage to stop the killing, starting by ending its logistical and intelligence support for the bombing.
