President Trump just announced the U.S. will be withdrawing from the historic Iran nuclear deal, which has successfully closed off Iran’s potential pathways to a nuclear weapon while guarding against yet another U.S. war in the Middle East. War with Iran just became more likely.
By refusing to waive sanctions as required under the nuclear accord, President Trump is rejecting the advice of the majority of our country’s people and scores of U.S. and Israeli security officials.
Just this week, a former Israeli General who served as the research chief for Israel’s military intelligence service, told reporters that U.S. withdrawal from the Iran deal would “let Iran drive a wedge between the world powers and gradually loosen international oversight over its nuclear program.”
If the Iran deal collapses, the cameras monitoring Iran’s uranium mines will go dark. The UN inspectors monitoring Iran’s nuclear facilities will be shut out. Violence between Israel and Iran—along with an unconstrained Iranian nuclear program and direct U.S. military confrontation with Iran—will be all the more likely. Unless Congress acts.
Call on your members of Congress to take us off Trump’s path toward war with Iran.
