At a weekend of events at the Quaker Hill Conference Center and Earlham College, FCNL celebrated our 75th anniversary, honored the work of those who came before us, and looked forward to the years ahead of continued work towards the world we seek.
In June 1943, Friends gathering in Richmond, IN founded the Friends Committee on National Legislation to bring Quakers’ concerns to bear on public policy. Seventy-five years later, from May 11-13, 2018, we returned to these roots to remember the work of these Friends and look forward to FCNL’s continued advocacy for peace, justice, and a sustainable planet in the decades to come.
‘We were made for community, buoyed by the ones who have come before us.’ ~ Legislative Director Amelia Kegan
‘I am who I am because of all your support for FCNL. It’s the only reason I’m doing what I’m doing.’ ~ Ellen Short
