As Kenya prepares for its upcoming repeat presidential election, FCNL and American Friends hold Kenyan Friends in the Light and urge the United States and Kenyan governments to promote peaceful solutions.
After the August 8th election that the Kenyan Supreme Court nullified, Friends in Kenya are working to promote peace and prevent violence as their country prepares for the repeat presidential election. And Quakers in the United States need to support them.
Recently, the Kenyan Supreme Court and the electoral commission pushed the date of the presidential election back from October 16th to October 26th to ensure that their country has time to make this upcoming election democratic, fair and ethical.
During this tense time as Kenyans prepare to go to the polls again, we hold all Kenyans in the Light and support efforts by Friends in Kenya to urge their leaders to promote peace.

We also urge the United States government to engage diplomatically to assist the Kenyan government and civil society for peaceful elections in October.
As Friends in the United States, we hold our Kenyan brothers and sisters in the Light.
