The Trump administration put forward a proposed rule that would create a new category of disability for Social Security recipients. This change would require frequent recertification of the individual’s disability, creating more opportunities for people to lose their benefits. FCNL submitted a comment to Andrew Saul, commissioner of the Social Security Administration, calling for the new rule to be rescinded.

Washington, DC – The Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL) praised today’s long delayed full House passage of The No BAN Act (H.R. 2214) in a bipartisan 226-171 vote. The bill would repeal the Trump administration’s travel ban against Muslims and prohibit other travel bans based on race or religion.
