We had a powerful Annual Meeting and Quaker Public Policy Institute. In a difficult time, it’s good to gather together and remember that, whatever happens, our Advocacy Never Gives Up!
During Annual Meeting, the General Committee laid out our legislative priorities for the 119th Congress and approved changes to our standing committee structure. They also approved new members of our standing committees and General Committee. All of these decisions were Spirit-led, discerned through gathering in worship.
During the Quaker Public Policy Institute, FCNL advocates from 35 states met with more than 100 congressional offices both on Capitol Hill and in their home districts. Our ask was simple: No New Weapons to Israel!
Several members of Congress have since spoken out in support of our ask. This included Senator Chris Van Hollen (MD), who was lobbied by more than 10 FCNL advocates.
