Nuria Raul assisted the Peacebuilding team in their efforts to lobby for U.S. foreign policy that aims to prevent and abate violent conflict globally. Her primary responsibilities included monitoring current legislation relating to the war in Ukraine, conducting research on the relationship between climate, migration, and gender, and advocating for the abolishment of U.S. policy that authorizes landmine and cluster munition use in any circumstances.
Nuria is originally from Silver Spring, Maryland, and recently graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, Honors College with a double B.A. in Psychology and Criminology/Criminal Justice. During her undergraduate career, she conducted research on domestic and foreign justice systems as well as worked with the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) as a legal intern, assisting with civil rights violation cases.
