Mimosa Thomas is Biology major on a pre-medical track with a minor in Medical Spanish at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. She loves her border community and enjoys working with grassroots organizers who are passionate about keeping the community a flourishing and demilitarized place to live, where all of its residents can feel safe and at home regardless of their citizenship status.
Mimosa is very involved in advocacy on and off campus, having worked as a volunteer for Battleground Texas, a Campus Organizer for the Texas Freedom Network, the Vice President of her school’s Voices for Progressive Action club, and President of her school’s Progressive Young Democrats. She is excited to work with other advocates from across the country to pass compassionate immigration reform reflective of her values as a Quaker and a frontera resident.
