Micajah Daniels is a Ronald E. McNair Scholar majoring in Public Health and minoring in Sociology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She is the winner of the 2018 Rebel Award for “Student Committed to Diversity,” for her activism and research on food insecurity, immigration, gun violence, and access to education.
Micajah intends to organize both on and off campus using her background in best policies and practices to build a coalition to address minority based health disparities. She is also dedicated to eliminating the school to prison pipeline for Black girls and women. As an Advocacy Corps member, Micajah is looking forward to having conversations around topics she is passionate about and growing her skills in lobbying.
