McLeod Abbott is a rising senior at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine where he is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Politics and History. He was born and raised in Bronxville, New York, a suburb just north of New York City. McLeod has had an interest in politics and social justice issues from a young age. Having served as the captain of his college squash team this past year, McLeod has learned valuable skills in leadership and communication that he hopes to bring to the Advocacy Corps.
McLeod looks forward to learning as much as possible about police demilitarization and how to most effectively lobby members of Congress. He is excited to be joining the Advocacy Corps and to have the opportunity to work with people his age on this critical topic.
