Ky’Asia Washington Blanchard is a community organizer and writer based in Schenectady, New York. They’ve studied political science, writing, and religion at both Houghton College and SUNY Empire State College, where they were the president of Black Heritage Club and a member of student government.
They hope to continue their education in legal studies. They’ve completed six tours of FCNL’s Spring Lobby Weekend and worked as an FCNL intern in 2019. They are inspired by Amanda Gorman, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Haddy Gassama, and Evelynn M. Hammonds.
