Kat DesCamp-Renner was the program assistant for Middle East policy for 2021-2022. Her work centered on supporting FCNL’s lobbying efforts to advance a just and sustainable U.S. foreign policy toward the region.
Kat graduated from the University of Virginia in 2021 with a B.A. in foreign affairs with distinction and a B.A. in global studies, with a focus on Middle Eastern studies. Her senior thesis examined the impact of street protests in the time of COVID-19 on political legitimacy in Iran.
Prior to joining FCNL, Kat held internships at the Center for International Policy, Churches for Middle East Peace, and ReThink Media. She also worked for three years as a research assistant in the University of Virginia’s Department of Politics as an undergraduate.
