Joelly Mejia is a TV Producer and is currently serving as the Manager of Development at Pie Town Productions, an award-winning production company that specializes in family-friendly programming.
Joelly has worked on TV shows for HGTV, FOX, NBC, National Geographic, TLC, Lifetime, MTV, and many others. Both of her parents hail from the Dominican Republic and they raised her and her brothers in a bilingual and bicultural household where they were encouraged to embrace both their heritage and their nationality. Her hometown of Providence, Rhode Island is a microcosm of immigrant shifts in the U.S. from the Triangular Slave Trade, to the Portuguese, Irish, and Italian migrations, followed by the Cape Verdean, Colombian, and Dominican, among many others. Joelly is currently developing a documentary tentatively titled “Bowling for Immigration”, that will explore the various migration patterns that have made up the diverse makeup of Rhode Island.
