Aiyana Coard is an active and proud tribal member of the Shinnecock Indian Nation and a student at the NYU School of Professional Studies, pursuing her master’s degree in Global Affairs with a focus on human rights and international law.
She currently serves as the director of political action for the NYU Black Student Union and is associate editor of the Global Affairs Review Journal. Her advocacy work and interests include immigration reform, Native American policy, voter education, international law, peace and security, and women and youth rights.
She recently served as a delegation leader at FCNL’s Spring Lobby Weekend, lobbying lawmakers to adopt federal immigration and refugee laws that address issues of migration justice. She has also served as an intern with One Fair Wage.
