Most states allow residents who are 17 years old to register to vote so long as they will turn 18 on or before Election Day. If you are not old enough to vote in this election there is still a lot you can do to help.
Register Voters
Voter registration is one of the most crucial activities ahead of Election Day. Targeting certain areas of your community can engage more people in the democratic process and boost voting participation. Many political organizations run voter-registration drives you can participate in. You can also get registration forms from your local Board of Elections.
Volunteer with a Candidate, Party or Organization
Your participation can determine the outcome of an election. The most important aspect of election work is contacting potential voters to turnout for your candidate. Canvass door to door, make phone calls to voters and help with other campaign responsibilities. Few jobs can offer an experience comparable to the exhilaration of watching results roll in on election night.
