Lobby Weekend 2008 Is a Success!
On April 4-7, 2008, more than 70 young people from 10 different states and the District of Columbia came to Washington, DC to learn how to effectively communicate with congressional staff. During the weekend participants listened to an inspirational talk and poetry reading by Emilio William, heard advice from a panel of congressional staffers, and were prepared by FCNL staff to lobby on upcoming legislation related to the Iraq War and climate change. On Monday participants visited more than 20 congressional offices to meet with staff and give their input into these legislative matters.
