Learn the basics of how to have a successful lobby visit. Learn how to schedule your visit, what your "ask" should be, and the types of follow-up that you should do after you visit a congressional office.

Learn about the legislative process in Congress and how that affects who, when, and how to lobby on issues.
2:10-2:40 What Can You Do Back at Home?
For most people, lobbying Congress is something that they can only do occasionally. What can you do to continue working on these issues when you're not in DC? This presentation will suggest ways that you can work in your local school or community on the issues that you care about.

2:40-3:00 How to Teach a Lobbying Training
Help empower others to directly give their message to Congress through citizen lobbying trainings. This presentation will explain how you can teach a lobbying training and the resources that FCNL has available to you to help you with that.

For those who wish to attend an unprogrammed Quaker meeting for worship, you are welcome to come to meeting for worship at the Friends Meeting of Washington in the Dupont Circle neighborhood. Meeting for worship is optional.

Breakfast at the William Penn House and Hostelling International
All day: Lobby visits
When not in congressional buildings, you may use the FCNL office as your home base. FCNL staff will be available to answer questions. Participants are welcome to head home as soon as they have turned in their lobby visit reports and weekend evaluations.
12:00 PM Lunch Available at FCNL office
5:30 PM End of work day.
FCNL staff no longer in office to answer questions or debrief from visits.
