Research Your Member of Congress
Nov 16, 2011
Before meeting with your Member of Congress, it’s important to research their background and voting record. This will help you feel prepared for your meeting and help you successfully communicate with your Member.
Step 1
First look up who your representative is using FCNL's 'Who represents me' tool under resources.
Step 2
Second, find your representative through the member search by last name, party affiliation, chamber, or state. Next, click on your representative’s name in the directory,. Review the biogrpahy, contact information, committees they sit on, or look at the list of their current staff.
Step 3
The third and perhaps most helpful step in learning about your Member of Congress is reviewing their votes. Here you will see a list of legislation and how your representative voted on them.
The far right hand column indicates how they 'scored' with FCNL and is reflected in the graphic bar-chart.
