This video "1945-1998" by Japanese artist Isao Hashimoto simulates the 2053 nuclear bomb explosions conducted between 1945 and 1998. The blinking light, sound, and numbers shown on the world map indicate when and where detonations took place, and how many experiments each country has conducted. Hashimoto created this work, along with two other pieces, to express what he calls “the fear and the folly of nuclear weapons.”
