Obama Administration, Tribal Leaders gather in DC

On December 2, 2011, the White House hosted the 3rd Annual White House Tribal Nations Conference. The conference gave hundreds of tribal leaders from the 565 federally recognized tribes a chance to engage in conversation directly with President Obama and other members of the administration. This annual conference provides an opportunity not only for conversation between U.S. government officials and tribal leaders but also for concrete actions and several significant changes for Indian Country.
