Presidential Candidates Answer Questions From Native American Press

Presidential Candidates Do Q&A With Indian Country Today Media Network

Last week, Barack Obama answered questions from the Native American press organization Indian Country Today Media Network – the first time a sitting president has ever done so. This week, Mitt Romney also answered questions from Native American press, a first for a Republican presidential candidate. The questions and answers covered such topics as tribal sovereignty, casinos and gaming, federal-tribal government relations, the economy, the Keystone XL pipeline, and more. The president’s leadership provides crucial momentum for work on the issues facing Native Americans, and each candidate’s answers give voters important information about their policy priorities.
