Congress Gets >100 Calls a Day This Week Against War with Iran

UPDATE: In the last week, Congress received more than a hundred calls a day for diplomacy, not war, with Iran from people like you. Other national organizations like US Action, the National Iranian American Council, Peace Action West, and Win Without War joined FCNL in organizing this call-in campaign that generated more than 700 calls from more than 42 states in just a few days.

Take Action: With Congress now in recess, you can visit your congressional office and urge them to join many former U.S. military and national security officials in cautioning against war with Iran during election season, and send a message for diplomacy, not war, with Iran to the President and Congress, and to candidates running for office in your area.

Call your Senator TODAY and ask that he or she speak out on the Senate floor against the rush to war, and in support of a recent report from national security experts on the tremendous costs of a war with Iran.

A recent report signed by nearly three dozen former U.S. military officials and national security experts warns that the costs of a military strike on Iran at this time would be more numerous than any potential benefits, echoing the assessment of many current U.S. and Israeli officials as well.

Please call your senators TODAY using FCNL's special toll free number, 1-855-68-NO WAR (1-855-686-6927) and urge them to make a speech on the floor of the Senate in support of this report's findings on the tremendous costs of war with Iran.

When you call 1-855-68-NO WAR, you will be connected to the congressional switchboard, and must ask for your senators by name.

If you don't know your senators' names, click here for FCNL's Congressional Directory. Put in your zip code to get your senators' names.

Here are talking points you can use:

  • My name is _______ and I'm calling from ____________.

  • I'm asking that Senator _______ make a speech on the floor of the Senate in support of a recent report by the Iran Project, which was signed by nearly three dozen former U.S. military officials and national security experts warning that the costs of a military strike on Iran would be far more numerous than any potential benefits. As many U.S. and Israeli security officials have pointed out, diplomacy is the best way to prevent a nuclear-armed Iran and a devastating war.
  • Thank you.
  • After you call, please let us know what reaction you received, and you can add it to the FCNL Diplomacy Not War with Iran Campaign Google map, or you can email Kathy Zager at kathy@fcnl.org, and she will add it for you.
