The current economic recession has affected all U.S. communities, including communities with high concentrations of immigrants. The Immigration Policy Center explains why legalizing undocumented immigrants should be a key part of the solution for restoring the U.S. economy.

Creating a reasonable pathway to legal status and eventual citizenship would permit undocumented immigrants to come out of the shadows and fully integrate into U.S. society.
