Fresh Air!
Air samples taken in Barrow, Alaska show that the atmospheric content of carbon dioxide surpassed 400 parts per million sometime this spring in the Arctic. 350 parts per million is considered the benchmark for maintaining a stable global climate.
As stewards of God's Earth we are charged with protecting and serving Creation as well as the most vulnerable populations that depend upon it. Carbon dioxide emissions are at unprecedented levels and represent the single greatest risk to the natural world and humankind. Civilization’s dependence upon fossil fuels will not be remedied tomorrow. Reducing CO2 emissions wherever possible is a moral imperative.
The EPA recently outlined New Source Performance Standards that will limit the amount of carbon dioxide emissions from new power plants. This is truly the eleventh hour for the global climate. The implementation of these standards is the first step in ensuring that humanity as a whole can provide quality of life for future generations.
We are all vulnerable.
Click here to send a letter to EPA telling them you support this standard.
