American Lung Association Supports the Clean Air Act
Mar 22, 2011
Forty years ago, Republican and Democratic leaders passed the Clean Air Act. This law directed the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to guard public health and the environment from life-threatening air pollution. Since then, the EPA’s careful oversight has saved lives and improved the quality of life for millions of Americans.
As public health and medical professionals and clean air advocates, we proudly support the Clean Air Act and oppose any measure that would keep the EPA from doing its job.
We urge Congress to uphold the clean air safeguards that save lives and ensure healthier communities for generations to come.
