Which Subcommittee is it Anyway? Determining Who Funds Your Issue
Who decides how money is allocated for the issue most important to you? The Senate and House Appropriations Committees determine how your tax dollars are spent. Appropriations committees rely on appropriations subcommittees to determine funding levels for individual programs. Subcommittee jurisdiction can often be confusing, but generally corresponds to a federal department. For example, the Subcommittee on Homeland Security determines funding levels for programs in the Department of Homeland Security.Find out which subcommittees you should be contacting to make sure that your priorities are fully funded.
