Three-Quarters of U.S. Public Against the War
Survey after survey shows that around three-quarters of the U.S. population consistently oppose the U.S. war in Afghanistan or think the war is not worth fighting.

- Gallup – USA Today: 50% of those polled believe the U.S. should speed up its withdrawal from Afghanistan (March 2012)
- Rasmussen: 67% of Americans support ending U.S. combat by the end of the year, eight points higher than last year. (February 2012)
- Fox News: 78% of all Americans approve of “withdrawing military troops from Afghanistan.” With support from 90% of Democrats and 63% of Republicans polled, this is a bipartisan sentiment. (April 2012)
- The Pew Research Center: 60% of Americans polled favored “removing troops from Afghanistan as soon as possible,” twelve points higher than last year. (April 2012)
- Washington Post-ABC News: 66% of Americans polled believe the war in Afghanistan has not been worth fighting. (April 2012)
- New York Times – CBS News: 69% of those polled think the United States “should not be at war with Afghanistan.” (March 2012)
- Associated Press – GfK: 66% of those polled oppose the war in Afghanistan, with 40% “strongly” opposing it. (May 2012)
