Ending the War in Afghanistan

FCNL’s strategic, patient lobbying in Congress for an end to the war in Afghanistan saw its biggest victory to date in late November 2012, when 62 senators voted for an amendment to remove U.S. troops from Afghanistan a full 18 months before the administration’s plan. FCNL was a leader in the work that culminated in this amendment’s passage, reaffirming Senator Jeff Merkley's assessment that FCNL is developing the "smart, engaged, fierce grassroots effort” to move Congress.
