FCNL
New Faces
By Alicia McBride on 08/27/2012 @ 10:30 PM
Today, a new group of program assistants began their work at FCNL.
They'll lobby for nuclear disarmament and for solutions to climate change, for a more just and fair federal budget, to involve Quakers and others more deeply in the policy change work that FCNL is trying to bring about, and much more.
And if past years are any indication, FCNL will learn from them and they will leave here next July thinking about how they can be involved in the political process in a different way than they do today.
This morning, all of us on the FCNL staff had a chance to eat and talk and laugh together. As Damian, Hannah, Christine, Annie, Adam, Rachel, and Devon begin to learn the work that they will be doing over the next 11 months, they'll continue to learn about this community they've landed themselves in -- an FCNL community, and a community of all the interns and program assistants over the years who have spent time at FCNL. (Can it really have been 12 years since I was one of those recent college graduates trying to find my way in this new job??)
