April Mays

Program Assistant for Economic Policy

April Mays is from the Southwest region of Ohio. In 2011 she graduated from Wilmington College of Ohio, where she studied accounting, political and social science with a concentration in international studies, and economics. As a student at Wilmington College, April attended three FCNL Spring Lobby Weekends where her love for making change through policy began. She also strengthened the sustainability practices on campus by improving the recycling program, starting a composting initiative in the dining services, and pushing the college to eliminate the use of trays in dining.

April is the program assistant for Ruth Flower on economic issues focusing on military spending. She recognizes the interconnected nature of military spending and all areas of focus in the FCNL Policy Statement. This interconnection is where April derives much of her passion for policy change and FCNL issues.
