Our Green Building
FCNL is proud to call Capitol Hill's first green building home.

In 1999, faced with a growing organization and a roof that was literally falling down, we decided that it was time for a new building.
As the planning process began, we saw the renovation of our Civil War era structure as an opportunity to put our values into action. We seek an Earth restored. Could our very offices help us advance that goal? Our team of architects said yes. Our supporters across the country said yes. And so, in 2003, construction began on the first LEED certified Green Building on Capitol Hill.
Our new offices are energy efficient, infused with light, and even compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. We’re proud that 245 Second Street, adjacent to congressional offices, will be a witness to environmental values for generations to come.
