Sam Garman
Grants Manager
As a grant writer, Sam works with staff to plan and write grant proposals to the foundations that partially support FCNL's work. He joined FCNL staff in March 2008; as a freelance writer, he had previously written the text for the Green Building portion of the FCNL web site, edited the FCNL pamphlet "Building Structures of Peace," researched and written a timeline of FCNL legislative successes, and written an article for the FCNL newsletter about nuclear weapons treaties. He was an FCNL intern on nuclear disarmament issues in 2001-02. Sam has also written an article on nuclear power and global warming for Inter Press Service.
A 2005 graduate of Northeastern University School of Law and member of the Maryland Bar, he has also worked as a contract attorney, legal document reviewer, and process server. He has completed legal co-ops at Washington, D.C.'s Public Defender Service; the D.C. Superior Court; the Federal Defender for the Middle District of Alabama; and the immigration law firm Chin & Curtis LLP.
He lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife and daughter.
